Marco Simonit, agronomist, was born in 1966 from family of farmers and winemakers. He has developed with Pierpaolo Sirch theSimonit & Sirch Pruning Method, which codified the rules of vines pruning. They attended together the Agriculture College in Cividale del Friuli and after several years of research and experiments in many vineyards across Europe,founded in 2003 the Preparatori d’Uva Srl, the only European company accredited in training of personnel for the manual pruning of the vineyards. Their advice is required by leading companies in Italy and throughout the main wine regions in Europe; currently Preparatori d’Uva cooperate with more than 130 companies in 11 countries.
They are also the founders of theItalian School of Vine Pruningwith 12 offices in major Italian wine regions and creators ofNext in Wine, prize for young winemakers.
Marco Simonitwon the Oscar in 2012 for Best Winemaker Agronomist.
In 2014 he wrote the Vine pruning Manual – Guyot , a first-level editorial, a practical and comprehensive innovative training, aimed at both professionals and amateurs.
