Alessandra Viola is a science journalist, a director of documentaries, a TV producer and the writer and presenter of science programmes for RAI (Italy’s public broadcaster). She also writes for the Italian newspapers La Repubblica, L’Espresso and Il Sole 24 Ore. Among other things, she has written a number of books that have won national and international awards: Verde Brillante. Intelligenza e sensibilità del mondo vegetale (“Brilliant Green: The Surprising History and Science of Plant Intelligence”, Giunti 2013, with Stefano Mancuso) and L'Era dell'Atomo (“The Era of the Atom”, Il Mulino 2015, with Piero Martin). Since 2013, she teaches the “Energy: Communication and Science” course at the LUISS University in Rome.
