Pavan Sukhdev is a sustainability thought leader, an experienced innovator in sustainability
metrics, and an influential voice on green economy and sustainable development issues. He has helped governments and corporations discover, measure, value, and manage their impacts on natural and human capital. From 2008 till 2011, as Special Adviser and Head of UNEP’s ‘Green Economy Initiative’, Pavan was Lead Author of UNEP’s widely appreciated and influential report ‘Towards a Green Economy’ (2011). This report demonstrated that the greening of economies was not a burden on growth but rather a new engine for growing wealth, increasing decent employment, and reducing persistent poverty. Pavan was also the Study Leader for the ground breaking TEEB (The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity) research commissioned by G8+5. Pavan was a Visiting Fellow at Yale University where he wrote the book “Corporation 2020” which envisions tomorrow’s corporation, and shows how it should work together with society to build a greener economy.
